Richard Ples Bushmiaer

Richard Ples Bushmiaer, age 74, of Ozark, Arkansas, passed away, Friday, May 30, 2025 in Ozark. He was born August 28, 1950 in Kibler, Arkansas to George Bushmiaer and Carrie Spradley Bushmiaer. Richard was of the Methodist faith. Richard dedicated most of his life to serving the farming community, working tirelessly to provide equipment and support to farmers and their families. Through his work, he forged lifelong friendships that he deeply valued. Richard took immense pride in the relationships he built with both customers and friends, always treating them with warmth and respect. In his free time, Richard loved to fish, especially fly fishing. His favorite destination was Gaston’s White River Resort. He and his twin brother, Robert, grew up visiting Gaston’s and as adults, they joyfully carried on that cherished tradition with their own families. To know Richard was to love him. But to those who knew him best, it was clear that his greatest joy came from his family: his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild who were the true center of his world. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, George Oliver Bushmiaer. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Susan Riddell Bushmiaer; two daughters, Jennifer Fox and husband Jimmy of Canton, Mississippi and Ashley Davis and husband Todd of Ozark, Arkansas; and one son, Richard Bushmiaer Jr. and wife Betsy of Springdale, Arkansas; his twin brother, Robert Bushmiaer and wife Margo; four grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Aguilar, Bailey Burnside, Miller Burnside, and Ben Bushmiaer; and one great grandchild, Hudson Burnside. Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 2, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church, 503 West Commercial Street in Ozark, with Brother Brad Elrod officiating. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Burnside, Miller Burnside, Betsy Bushmiaer, Sara Elizabeth Aguilar, Ben Bushmiaer, Jimmy Fox, and Todd Davis. *In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Heart of Hospice, 1001 Towson Avenue Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
