Pearl F. Rice

Pearl F. Rice, 85 of Coal Hill, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in Coal Hill. She was born January 4, 1940 in East Prairie, Missouri to Elmer Anley Redd and Elay Agnes Wasson Redd. Pearl was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked for Singer Corporation for many years. She enjoyed sewing, talking on the phone, watching her stories, and cooking for her family, especially on the holidays. Pearl is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Danny Lee Rice; one grandson, Daniel Wayne Rice; six sisters, Levern Johnson, Vernell Columbus, Imogene Dolajsi, Rosie Gore, Wilma Lee Britt, and Delores James; and two brothers, Hubert Redd and Sammy Dale Redd. Pearl is survived by her husband of 68 years, Vernon Rice; one son, Johnny Rice and wife Jana of Coal Hill, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Virginia Rice of Clarksville, Arkansas; two sisters, Dora Jean Dooley of Memphis, Tennessee and Nora Tiny Johnson and husband Charles of Truman, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jennette Jade Rice of London, Arkansas, John Vernon Rice and wife Nicole of Clarksville, and Amanda Lynn Rice of Coal Hill; seven great grandchildren, Aaron Michael Rice of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Britlee Marie Garner-Hern of Clinton, Arkansas, Makia Ann Beal and husband Chris of Scranton, Arkansas, Zachery Colton Rice, Jonathon Rylee Rice, Aleigh Shy-Ann Rice, and Jackson Lee Rice all of Clarksville; and one great-great grandson, Hayden Michael Rice of Coal Hill. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark with Brother J.D. Ellison officiating, with burial at Houston Cemetery in Alix, Arkansas. Serving as pallbearers will be John Rice, Jonathon Rice, Dewayne Rice, Newton Shaffer, Joe Finley and Ronnie Bugg. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Rice, Zackery Rice, Jackson Rice, Hayden Rice, Tom Eddy, Roger Farnam, Eden Norris and Buddy Beaver.
