Kenneth Rudolph McGee

Kenneth Rudolph McGee, 91, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Ozark. He was a retired Machinist, Welder, and Cattleman, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; he was a 32nd Degree Free Mason with the Fayetteville, Arkansas Lodge; member of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association; a former Boy Scout leader; member of International Union of Operating Engineers; a founding member of Watalula Water Users Association; and had formerly worked in Oil and Gas fields as Driller and Welder. He was born March 14, 1923 in Charleston, Arkansas to Andrew Hence and Altie Theo Rogers McGee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Charles Curtis; three brothers: Lawrence, Ernest and John McGee. He is survived by his companion of 18 years, Maxine McIlroy of Ozark; three sons, Kenneth Ray McGee and his wife Carol of Houston, Texas; Larry John McGee and his wife Debbie of Lavaca, Arkansas; and Mark McGee of Ozark; three grandchildren, Eddie Joe McGee and wife Vanessa; Matthew Jacob McGee and wife Amber; and Neil McCormick; five great grandchildren, Madelyn Rachel McGee, Caleb Jameson McGee, Logan Kenneth McGee, Elivina McCormick, and Sofia McGee; two brothers, Ralph McGee of Waco, Texas, and Robert McGee of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Corrine Allen of Van Buren, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with Brother Troy Vaughn officiating, and burial with masonic services at Lowes Creek Cemetery, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are Mack McClellan, Gordon McCain, D. C. Holden, Reed Haynes, Randy Hilllard, Thomas Post, Kent Reading, and Steve Walker; serving as honorary pallbearers are Clayton Tompkins, Dee Gober, Ken Wheeless, Clayton Thompkins, Jr., Ricky McKinney, Gene Hogan, Lonnie Turner, Mike Madison, Dennis Harris, Todd Patterson, Thelma Jaggers, Eva Patton, Nan Dangers, Nettie Hill, Jan Hudspeth, Sarah Halmes, Lula McKinney, and Marcia Hillard. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 27th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial, in Ozark.
