Joyce Ann McMath

Joyce Ann McMath, age 83, of Mulberry, Arkansas, surrounded by her family, entered the presence of the Lord, on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in her home. She was born January 4, 1942 in Bakersfield, California to Noel Edward Westbrook and Georgia Veta Dunham Westbrook. Joyce was of the Baptist faith and a long-time member of the Graphic Southern Baptist Church in Alma, Arkansas. She enjoyed her Bible study groups with all her special friends. She was a woman of strong faith with Christ at the center of her life. A true inspiration to all who knew her, she was the first to put the needs of others ahead of her own and loved to sing gospel songs. She loved nature greatly, specifically flowers, dragonflies, and hummingbirds. Joyce enjoyed canning, sewing, cooking, and reading. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Clyde McMath; one son, Donald McMath; one daughter, Charlcye McMath; two sisters, Beverly Daniel and Patricia Lewis; and two grandsons, Joshua McMath and Brent Maxwell. Joyce is survived by two sons, Rocky McMath of Mulberry and Greg McMath and wife Cheri of Shreveport, Louisiana; two daughters, Joy Maxwell and husband Mike of Montgomery, Texas and Nancy Harrelson and husband Steve of Alma; one brother, Ron Westbrook and wife Bonnie of Crescent City, California; three sisters, Joyce Henderson of Arp, Texas, Renee Tabelin and husband Victor of Chiloquin, Oregon, Karma Ferguson and husband Johnny of Knights Landing, California; fourteen grandchildren, Melissa, Tyler and Lexi, Timothy and Marissa, Lydia and Ronnie, Heather, Haley and Michael, Amber and Russ, Scotty, and Donnie; twenty-one great grandchildren, Kelsey, Tatum, Tenley, Bryson, Bree, Brady, Harper, Toby, Kennedy, Henry, Fielding, Dylan, Kyra, Milam, Murphy, William, Ilias, Belle, Scott, Kaylee, and Josie; and six great-great grandchildren, Tahlin, Tayla, Romy, Finn, Layton, and Dylan Rae. A family-held celebration of life service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Graphic Southern Baptist Church, 4102 W. Graphic Road in Alma, Arkansas, with Pastor Steve Harrelson officiating. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Joyce McMath Memorial Account at Today’s Bank.
