Howard Monroe Hudson

Howard Monroe Hudson, age 93, Holt, Missouri, formerly of Ozark, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in Holt, Missouri. He was born November 17, 1931 in Harriett, Texas to Wilson G. Hudson and Fayebelle Smith Hudson. Monroe was a Christian. He was a United States Navy Veteran, joining in 1952 and becoming a mechanic with a bomber crew. He had numerous stories to share about his years of service, where he got to travel the world. Many of his stories concerned monitoring radial airplane engines during flight, riding inside the wings. Monroe attended Arkansas Valley Vo-Tech, finishing first in his class, and began a career in Air-Conditioning and Appliance repair. He worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 25 years, retiring in 1993 to devote his time to his horse business. Monroe had a lifelong love of horses and owned many over the years. In earlier years, he was a member of the Ozark Riding Club. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Monroe is preceded in death by his parents; his late wife, Rosemary Thompson Hudson; one daughter, Mary Hudson; and his only sibling, Winston Hudson. Monroe is survived by his wife, Carol Childers Hudson; two sons, Ron Hudson and wife Kendra and Bill Hudson and wife Cindy; four daughters, Linda Proffitt and husband Patrick, Doris Hudson, Virginia Jackson, and Becky Hunter and husband John; three step-daughters, Lori Shaffer and husband Steve, Stacey Speiser and husband Chad, and Donna Weese; twelve grandchildren, Daniel Hudson, Josiah Hudson, Lindsey Coleman, Leslie Wren, Dadrian Russell, Brianna Ingram, Ashley Evans, Emily Cole, Anna Zambardino, Catherine Hudson, Camaryn Hudson, and Chlise Hobbs; five step-grandchildren, Kinsi Walker, Kylie Bennett, Sydni Sigris, Austin Weese, and Madeline Sharp; and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Monday May 12, 2025 at Highland Cemetery, Highway 64 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday May 12, 2025 at Highland Cemetery in Ozark, with Pastor Chris Russell officiating, with burial at Highland Cemetery.
