Cathy Jonetta Goodin

Cathy Jonetta Goodin, 73, of Ozark, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Cathy was born on May 15, 1952, in Mulberry, Arkansas to Bobby Joe Walker and Gertie Audine Walker. She was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of the Southern Baptist faith, attending church in Mulberry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life and guided the way she loved and served others. Cathy had a heart as big as her smile. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—known for her nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and deep love for her family. One of her greatest joys was being involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, especially on the ball field. Whether it was football, baseball, or basketball, Cathy was always there—cheering, encouraging, and fully present. Supporting her family was her passion. She will be remembered for her deep faith, her selfless love, and the way she showed up—every day—for the people she loved. While she will be greatly missed, her legacy lives on through her family and all those blessed to know her. She retired in 2017 after many years of dedicated work, including her time with Cargill as a QA in the poultry industry. Cathy was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and caring heart, both professionally and personally. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Terry Anthony Walker. Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Roy L. Goodin of Ozark; three children, Shawn Goodin of Ozark, Crystal Yoder and husband Bryan Precure of Rogers, Arkansas, and Lance Goodin of Rogers; one sister, Joy Mitchell of Ozark; two brothers, Bobby Dale Walker and wife Debbie of Ratcliff, Arkansas and Mike Walker and wife Debbie of Cecil, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, James Yoder, Lance Yoder, Seth Campbell, Jacquelyn Bateman, Joshua Gearhart, Ava Goodin, Caden Goodin, and Henry Yoder; and eight great grandchildren, Kyrie Campbell, Gus Campbell, Amelia Campbell, Jamison Bateman, Willow Gearhart, Jonathan Yoder, Mazi Yoder, and Krislynn Yoder; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M, Monday, January 5, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark, with burial at Cemetery Ridge, Heritage Road in Ozark. Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Goodin, Shawn Gooodin, Williiam Walker, Dustin Walker, Preston Walker, Seth Campbell, and Joshua Gearhart.
