Carol Jane Doss Cordell

Carol Jane Doss Cordell, 75, of Ozark, Arkansas died July 18, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born July 11, 1946 in Franklin County to Samuel and Zeffie Cagle Doss. Carol was a 1963 graduate of Ozark High School and a legal assistant for both Jack King and John Cravens. She was an administrative assistant for former Judge Joe Powell, Franklin County Stenographer and a 3rd level security employee for Area 51 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance Group and a tax preparer for many years. Carol was also the insurance and pre-arrangement counselor and administrative assistant at Shaffer Funeral Home for over 20 years and interim Franklin County Coroner. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence Butch Cordell; infant son James Edward Graham; three brothers, Robert, Gordon, and Dean Doss; three sisters, Lorene and Mary Darlene Doss, and Edna Doss-Ross. Carol is survived by a daughter, Sheila Graham and companion Joe Culp of Neosho, Missouri; two sons, Brad Cordell and companion, Amber Adams of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Brent Graham and wife Debbie of Ozark; 12 grandchildren, Breanna Graham-Pippin and husband Kyle of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Wade Graham of Dover, Arkansas, Eddie Graham of Russellville, Arkansas; Alex Richardson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Nicholas Richardson of Lowell, Arkansas, Sierra Richardson of Neosho; Joey Sturgell of Aurora, Missouri, Alyssa and Grace Cordell, Kaedyn and Donnovan Adams all of Bella Vista, and Tyler Willey of Rogers, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and so many wonderful Ozark High School classmates and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverends Ted Darling and Ben Lairamore officiating with burial at Mt. View Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are Wade and Eddie Graham, Joey Sturgell, Alex and Nicholas Richardson, David Ross and Randy Ross. Honorary pallbearers are Lonnie Turner, Joe Powell, Ernie Witt, John Milam, and the Shaffer Funeral Home staff.
