Billy Gene Smith, 56 of Ozark, Arkansas passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 in Ozark. He was born on February 16, 1970 in Millipedes, California to Billy and Wanda Walker Smith. As a child, Billy and his family moved to Arkansas and Bill vowed to never leave Arkansas again. Bill was a welder by trade who could fix anything. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, nephew and Pow Pow to his namesake Maggie Jean. Bill loved to hunt and cheer on the Arkansas Razorbacks. In the fall you could find him in the deer woods in the morning and at the Razorback Stadium in the afternoons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Wanda Smith. Bill is survived by his wife of almost 15 years, Tiffney Smith; one son, Johnathan Minyard and wife Carlee of Atkins; one daughter, Savannah Rudolph and husband Kade of Alma, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Maggie Rudolph or “poodles” as he called her; one grandbaby Minyard on the way; three brothers, James Smith and wife Dawn of Van Buren, Arkansas, Jeffrey Smith and wife Catherine of Wynne, Arkansas, and Bryan Smith of Van Buren; two nieces and two nephews; two aunts, Shirley Loyd of Alma and Pam Mitchell and husband Rodney of Oklahoma; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donna and Gary Jeffery of Locust Grove, Arkansas; Kevin Cooper and wife Cephas of Concord, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Amanda Cooper of Prim, Arkansas and grandmother-in-law, Jan Verser of Prim. A memorial visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial Street in Ozark. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark, with Brother Jacob Jones officiating. Cremation arrangements will be made under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home and Cremation as requested by Bill. He wants his ashes spread at his favorite place to be, home.
