Mildred Raye Boley

Mildred Raye Boley, age 96, of Dover, Arkansas died Friday, November 19, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born September 5, 1925 in Denning, Arkansas to James Elmer and Dorthea Helmert Zolliecoffer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmer Boley; two daughters, Brenda and Linda Doss; granddaughter, Jackie Thomas; sister, Pat Vaught; brother, Sonny Zolliecoffer; niece, Karen Vaught; and stepson, WM “Nubbin” Boley. Mildred was a retired USDA Inspector and worked as a hostess at a local restaurant until the age of 95. She never met a stranger; many lives were touched by her energy and love of life. She had a passion for telling jokes and making people laugh. She embraced her work family and friends like no other. She lost many of her loved ones during her life but had a survival spirit and was seen as a brave and strong woman. Mildred was a matriarch of her family, loved by all. She always wanted to know what was going on with everyone and gave advice whether it was needed or not. She kept all entertained with her presence and her family always knew of her love for them. Mildred had a deep faith and embraced her journey after this life. Mildred is survived by her brother, Mickey Zolliecoffer and wife Francis; step-daughter, Becky Miller and several much loved nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home with Brother Jan Akins officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home with burial at Houston Cemetery.
