Mary Sue Lowrimore, 92 of Mulberry, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born on July 20, 1929 to Ernest and Suda Knight Smalley in Wynona, Oklahoma. Mary Sue was a loving dedicated grandmother known as “Granny” or “Mama Sue “to her grandchildren. She lived most of her adult live with her husband of 67 years on the corner of 10th and Jackson Street in Mulberry, Arkansas. Mary Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church and a beautician for many years in Mulberry. She was also very active in the Mulberry Senior Inn. She was presented with an outstanding citizen recognition award for her active participation in many civic endeavors such as the restoration of Kirksey Maternity Hospital and so many other projects. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Gene Lowrimore, one daughter Scharlotte Stapp, one son Donald Lee Lowrimore, five brothers; Jess, Edgar and Jim Kelly, Douglas and Raydale Smalley, two sisters; Pandora Frazier and Linda Jo Hipsher. Mary Sue is survived by two daughters; April Schlichting and husband Chuck of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and Connie Jean Rutt of Clarksville, Arkansas, one daughter- in- law Nina Lowrimore of West Fork, Arkansas, one sister Patricia Swearingen of Mulberry, six grandchildren; Kelly Don Lowrimore and wife Christina of West Fork, Greg Rutt and wife Sue of Buford, Georgia, Rebecca Hawkins and husband Chuck of Ozark, Larissa Hubbard and husband J.D. of St Ignatius, Montana, James David Shilling of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Marcus Shilling of Mountainburg, nine great grandchildren; Kyler Don Lowrimore of West Fork, Rachel and Zoe Rutt of Buford, Georgia, Lexxa Harmon of Ozark, Savannah Smith of Springfield, Arkansas, James, Jason, Jayci and Emmett Shilling of Gun Barrel City, Texas, one great granddaughter Sydnee Moore of Ozark, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins , friends and one special friend, caregiver Terri Halpin. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Mulberry, 453 Church Ave. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 at First Baptist of Mulberry with Brother Sean Pratt officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry. Serving as pallbearers are James D. Shilling, Marcus Shilling, Kelly Don Lowrimore, Adam Workman, Chuck Hawkins and Chuck Schlichting. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Crumpton and Bill Vickery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Mulberry or the Ralph D. Graf Public Library in Mulberry, 220 N Main St, Mulberry, Arkansas 72947.
