Mary Lynn Darter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Lynn Darter, age 83 of Altus, Arkansas died Saturday, July 10, 2021. Mary was a retired nurse having worked at Becky Flowers-Johnson Medical Clinic and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ozark. She was a member the Ladies Auxiliary, Arkansas Municipal League, Altus City Council, The Eagles, President of the Altus Historical Society, Rolling River Red Hat Society, Daughters of the Confederacy and the Altus Sunset Rotary. She was born August 30, 1937 in Altus to George and Dessie M. Page Muchmore. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Allen Darter; a brother, George R. Muchmore; a sister, Virginia Canady; and grandson Brian Darter. Mary is survived by three sons, Gregory Allen Darter, Gary Wayne Darter both of Altus and Jeffery Earl Darter of Walnut Grove, GA: eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2021at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home with Brother Ben Larimore officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home with burial following at Nichols Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Darter and Thomas Darter.
