Lloyd Erwin Schlicker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lloyd Erwin Schlicker, age 80, of Cass, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 surrounded by family and love in his home on the Mulberry River. He was born January 17, 1942 in Auburn, Michigan to Edgar and Doris Wegener Schlicker. Lloyd graduated high school in Midland, Michigan and college from Michigan State University. He was a retired city planner for Fort Smith, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee and a rock mason. He was also an avid hiker, wine-maker, and canoeist. He was a lover of nature, friendship, and campfires. Lloyd never met a stranger; he embraced everyone he met with kindness and a glass of his homemade wine. His spirit will forever live in the rush of the rapids, the soil of the mountains, and in the hearts of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Nelson, Gary, and Victor Schlicker. Lloyd is survived by one son Chad Schlicker and wife Susan of California, one daughter Kalin Schlicker of Cass, one granddaughter Isabella Schlicker of Van Buren, Arkansas, two grandsons; Charlie and Billy Schlicker of Knoxville, Tennessee, one brother Bill Schlicker of Canada, four sisters; Linda Ramsay and husband Les of Pennsylvania, Kathleen Perkins and husband Gary of Ohio, Virginia Fisher and husband Joe of Oregon, Martha Steed and husband Jeff of Michigan, numerous nieces and nephews and an endless list of friends who he considered family. A family held memorial will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements were made under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for those to take a moment to enjoy the little things in life, just as Lloyd did every day he was on this Earth
