Joyce D. Bowman, age 79 of Ozark, Arkansas died Thursday, May 27, 2021. She was born November 9, 1941 in Wilson, Oklahoma to J.C. and Goldie Beatrice Henry Thrasher. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin Bowman, SR.; three brothers, infant brother, Jay Darrill and Willie Joe Thrasher; and one sister, Shirley Rofkahr. She is survived by two sons, Alvin Bowman, Jr. and wife Kim of Ozark and Timothy Bowman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five brothers, Pat Thrasher of Desoto, Kansas, Allen Thrasher of Leavenworth, Kansas; Freddie Thrasher and wife Sue of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Jackie Thrasher of Fort Smith, Arkansas and H.B. Thrasher of Desoto; two sisters, Ann Cowan and husband Marvin of Desoto and Betty Lou Capehart and husband Steve of Lamar, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Price of Ozark, Lindsay Dawn Chastain of Winfield, Missouri, Edward Bowman and wife Kelsey Nicole of Dover, Arkansas and Justus Matthew Bowman and wife Genevieve of Quebec, Canada; and eleven great-grandchildren. Open viewing will be held from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Brother George Willis officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
