Gordon Lee Ross

March 28, 1943 - March 20, 2022

Gordon Lee Ross, age 78, of Altus, Arkansas passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 in Altus. He was a Vietnam Veteran in the Army and retired as MSG after 21 years and as the Altus Water Superintendent for fifteen years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and an avid sports fan of his grandchildren and professionals. He loved fishing, family, cooking for people, and the deer woods for those who know his place to go. Gordon was born March 28, 1943 in Altus to Gene and Etta Covert Ross. He is preceded in death by his parents, step mom, Eula Ross; three brothers, Kenneth, Gerald, and Robert Ross; and two sisters, Pat Gauret and Grace Turner. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Vickie Timmerman Ross; one daughter, Melinda and husband Randy Milam of Alma, Arkansas; one son, Greg Ross of Altus; and five grandchildren, Austin Ross, Haley and Bethany Milam, Saben and Tori Ross; two sisters, Nina “Sissie” Rinke and Betty St. Clair; one sister in law, Mary Ross; and many friends and neighbors that are considered family. Rosary will be 6:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M followed by Visitation from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel, 2315 W Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church with Father Reginald Udouj officiating with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Altus under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
