Charles Duane Walker

Charles Duane Walker, age 87, of Guyton, Georgia passed away Sunday May 1, 2022 in Rincon, Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith. Charles graduated from Ozark High School in 1953, worked until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955, spent four years at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah, Georgia where he earned a rank of Airman First Class before he discharged, later worked in General Dynamics in the field of ballistics missile testing, owned a service station in Savannah for ten years, and then become a Charter Bus Driver for C & H Bus Lines. He was born February 16, 1935 in Ozark, Arkansas to Bert and Hilta Keith Walker. Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; his parents; and one brother, Terry Walker. Charles is survived by his two sons, Brian Walker and Steven Walker and wife Cara all of Rincon, Georgia; one daughter, Pamela Walker of Guyton, Georgia; two sisters, Jan Grewell and husband Don and Pat Bigham; one brother, Douglas Walker and wife Juanita; eleven grandchildren, Rachel Campbell and husband Hank, Derek Walker, Ella Mullis and husband Gavin, Savannah Walker-Triplett and husband Samson, Grace Bennett and husband Mark, Anthony Walker-Triplett, Sarrina Taylor, Jaymes Walker, Meyah Taylor, Nickole Walker and Ian Walker; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 7, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 West Commercial Street Ozark. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 7, 2022 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel 2315 West Commercial Street Ozark with Brother Jan Akins officiating, with burial at Highland Cemetery 1509 West Commercial Street Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Steven Walker, Hank Campbell, Gregg Bigham, Tony Davidson, Charlie Walker, Wayne Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
