Wilma Annie May Sheppard Drain

Wilma Annie May Sheppard Drain, age 89, of Ozark, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 3, 2024 in Russellville Nursing Home in Russellville, Arkansas. She was born April 29, 1935 in Ozark to Ernest Sheppard and Lu Amy Freeman Sheppard. Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love and sincere faith. Her life was defined by her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and her great devotion to her family. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife, a mother, “mamaw” to her grands and a loyal friend to many. Wilma prized her family as her greatest treasure in this life. She was a powerful prayer warrior who God used to comfort, encourage, and strengthen others. Family members, friends, and all who knew her referred to Wilma as a sweet, generous, hospitable, and kind person. Wilma was always ready to listen and to lend a helping hand wherever she could. She was a member of City Church in Russellville, Arkansas. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Vernon Sheppard, Ernest Sheppard Jr., J.D. Sheppard, Velma George, and Wanda Ellison; her devoted husband, Leverett P. “Sonny” Drain; and grandparents, James Arthur, Julie Agnes Surrey Alice Sheppard, James Marvin, and Eula Lee Freeman. Wilma is survived by her four sons, Wayne Drain and wife June of Russellville, Johnny Drain and wife Gayle of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Kenny Drain and wife Lindsey of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Tim Drain of Ozark; fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark, with Pastor Wayne Drain officiating, with burial at Belt Cemetery, Low Gap Road in Ozark, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandson, Brent Drain, Taylor Drain, Ben Drain, Elijah Drain, Jack Drain, and Blake Gifford.
