Roy Lee Murphy Jr., a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, completed his earthly journey on Friday, May 15, 2026 in Ozark at the age of 62. He was born August 3, 1963 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Roy Lee Murphy Sr. and Vera M. Bratton Murphy. Jr. was a baptized believer and a true country soul who found his greatest peace and contentment in the quiet beauty of the great outdoors. Whether he was working as a skilled mechanic, hunting in the woods, or fishing for trout, he had a deep appreciation for the Lord’s creation. Above all, he was a deeply proud father and grandfather who taught the essential foundations of life: the value of hard work, the importance of integrity, the patience to fix what was broken, and the honor of standing proud in their family name. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Murphy Sr. and one sister, Pam Murphy. Jr. leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his family. He is survived by his mother, Vera Mae Murphy of Ozark; two sons, Justin Lee Murphy and wife Kristin Fay of Clarksville, Arkansas and Steven Don Murphy and wife Allison Nicole of Ozark; four grandchildren, Jayden Mae Ann Murphy, Kennedi Lee Murphy, Jax Lee Murphy, and Caroline Dawn Murphy; two brothers, Ricky Don Murphy of Ozark and Johnnie Clyde Murphy and wife Renae Lynn of Ozark; two sisters, Melinda Ann Montgomery and husband James of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Cheryl Marie Harden of Ozark; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends who will forever miss his laughter, stories, and unforgettable spirit. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 23, 2026 at West View Cemetery, West View Road in Ozark, with Brother James Montgomery officiating, with burial at West View Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Lee Murphy, Steven Don Murphy, Ricky Don Murphy, Johnnie Clyde Murphy, Zachariah Ty Hollenbaugh, and Jeremy Lee Harden.
