Robbie Jean Tompkins

Robbie Jean Tompkins, 101, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away, Sunday, January 11, 2026 in Ozark. She was born June 23, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas to Samuel Edward Taff and Elizabeth Jean Patrick Taff. Robbie was of the Church of Christ faith, was a faithful Christian, and worshiped with the Ozark Church of Christ where she taught bible class for many years. She graduated from Ozark High School in 1943, where she was the Senior Basketball Queen. After graduating high school she moved to Detroit, Michigan during World War II and worked as an Inspector at an airplane factory. Before the war ended, she married her sweetheart then moved to California and started a family. Robbie and her family moved back to Arkansas in 1962, where she became an Avon Representative for many years and in 1967 she received her Cosmetology License and opened her own Beauty Shop, which she operated for many years. She was a charter member of the Busy Homemakers, a fantastic cook, seamstress, and crafter. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Tompkins that she was happily married to for 64 years before his passing in 2008. She is also preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Louetta Taff; her granddaughter, Anna Rose Woolsey; three brothers, Harold Edward Taff Sr, Wayne Taff, and Richard Taff; and two sisters, Frances Townzen and Treba Andrews. Robbie is survived by one son, Elmo Clayton Tompkins Jr. and wife Barbara of Ozark; one daughter, Gloria Jean Woolsey and husband Frank of Ozark; four grandchildren, Matthew Tompkins and wife Amy of Royersford, Pennsylvania, Andrew Tompkins and wife Chandra of Ozark, Charity Davis and husband Brent of Russellville, Arkansas and Rachel Woolsey of Ozark; six great grandchildren, Madison, Hayden, Reagan, Emily, and Will Tompkins, and Theodore Davis; two sisters, Susie Williams of Oregon and Nancy Lusk and husband Ken of Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Andy Andrews of Texas; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Taff of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark, Arkansas. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Highland Cemetery, Highway 64 West Commercial Street in Ozark, with Brother Joseph Morien, with burial at Highland Cemetery.
