Raymond "Pop" Leroy Becker

Raymond “Pop” Leroy Becker, 95 of Alix, Arkansas passed away on July 15, 2026 in Ozark, Arkansas. He was born September 15, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska to William Becker and Anna Pollreis Becker. Raymond attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Hartman High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. After his military service, he returned home to the family farm, where he row-crop farmed in the Alix bottoms for many years. Raymond found great joy in spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, watching things grow, and working on woodworking projects. He will be remembered as a quiet, kind, gentle, and loving man with a strong work ethic and an independent spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was someone his family and friends could always depend on. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Anna Becker; seven brothers, Bill, Robert, Thomas, Richard, Wayne, Willis, and Donald Becker; a beloved member of his extended family, Don Phillips. Raymond is survived by one sister, Mary Ann Chance of Wakita, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Erlene Becker and Barbara Becker; several nieces and nephews; and his extended adopted family: Barbara Phillips, Chrissa Tull and husband JJ, Truman Phillips and wife Jenifer, Fred Phillips and wife Charlotte, David Phillips and wife Donna; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 20, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 5118 St. Mary’s Lane Altus, Arkansas, with Father Raj Nalazala and Deacon Brian Lachowsky officiating, with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Altus, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Bart Chance, Berry Chance, Truman Phillips, Fred Phillips, David Phillips, and JJ Tull.
