Linda Faye Proffitt

Linda Faye Proffitt, age 67, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was born February 1, 1958, in San Angelo, Texas to Howard Monroe Hudson and Rosemary Thompson Hudson. Linda was a Christian and of the Assembly of God faith. She was a member of the Living Water Assembly of God Church. She worked for over 40 years in education, influencing generations. She was an English teacher for Mulberry/Pleasant View Schools. Additionally, she served as a language arts instructor, helping students prepare for various tests like GED’s, immigration visa exams, and CNA certifications at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus, and Van Buren Crawford County Adult Education Center. Linda was a member of the Lions Club, a Girl Scout leader, a Quiz Bowl coach, a Yearbook Journalism teacher, and a Toys for Tots volunteer. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, getting her nails done, camping, and shopping. She enjoyed supporting and spending time with her family, children, and granddaughter. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Hudson. Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Patrick Stuart Proffitt; two daughters, Emily Faye Proffitt Cole and husband Caleb of Winslow, Arkansas, and Anna Lee Proffitt Zambardino and husband Jacob of Russellville, Arkansas; two brothers, Ron Hudson and wife Kendra of Oklahoma and Bill Hudson and wife Cindy of Texas; three sisters, Doris Hudson, Virginia Jackson, and Becky Hunter and husband John, all of Arkansas; and one grandchild, Edelweiss Faye Cole. A family-held visitation will be 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Living Water Church, intersection of Highways 23 and 352 in Ozark. A family-held memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Living Water Church in Ozark, with Pastor Glen McAllister officiating. Following the memorial service, the family invites you to stay for finger foods and a Celebration of Life with Linda’s family.
