Izola Lee Davis Markes, 89 of Ozark, Arkansas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family she loved, Wednesday, March 18, 2026 in Ozark, after a courageous journey with dementia. She was born August 17, 1936 in Oark Arkansas to Alvin Davis and Daisy Robinson Davis. She was the heart of her home and family. She had a deep love for gardening and took great joy in growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. Izola cherished cooking for and spending time with family and friends. She was well known for her delicious “cat head biscuits”, which brought comfort and smiles to all who shared them. Izola loved and trusted Jesus with all her heart. Her faith carried her through life’s challenges and blessed her family in countless ways. Her prayers were a guiding force, and the impact will be felt for generations to come. Her family knows that her spirit will live in each one of them and they plan to honor her memory by carrying her legacy of love and kindness to everyone that they meet. She was deeply loved by her family and will forever be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; her soulmate and husband, Buddy Markes; one son, Danny Markes; and grandparents, Allie and Ballad Robinson. Izola is survived by two children she lovingly raised, her daughter, Teresa Ann Davis Farmer and husband Donald of Ozark and Herman Davis and significant other Season Gabard of Ozark; she embraced two more children through marriage, Randy Markes of Ozark and Danny Markes whom has passed; devoted grandmother to two grandchildren, Amanda Farmer Breedlove and Brandon Farmer both of Ozark; and proud great grandmother to seven great grandchildren, Tay, Lauren, and Alex Farmer, Gavin, Jackson, Shay, and Madison Breedlove. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 20, 2026 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Graveside will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Highland Cemetery, Highway 64 West Commercial Street in Ozark, with Brother Mike Pennington officiating, with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Ball, Donald Farmer, Brandon Farmer, Ezra Breedlove, Hermon Davis, and Gavin Breedlove.
