Geraldine Ambrose Leding

Geraldine Ambrose Rofkahr Leding, known to many as Curly, 89, of Altus, Arkansas, passed away on December 20, 2020. Geraldine was born on June 20, 1931 to Ferdinand and Marie Rofkahr. She was a cook at Wiederkehr’s restaurant for many years until her retirement. Before Wiederkehr’s, she was a homemaker. Geraldine Rofkahr married Richard Leding on October 25, 1952. They were married for 67 years. She loved her family, and instilled love into all of her friends and family members. She was beyond proud of her children and their accomplishments, and she loved visiting with all of her friends and family. She loved to be recognized from her time on the television show, “The Simple Life.” Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Richard; her son Duane; her siblings Helen Bramlet, Mildred Baumgartner, Julius, Gervase, Ferdinand, and Gilbert Rofkahr; her granddaughter April Gilbert; her grandson Denver Leding; and other family and friends that went before her. She is survived by four sons Rickey Leding and wife Angel of Altus, David Leding and wife Barbara of Yukon, Oklahoma, Martin Leding of Altus, Albert Leding and wife Janet of Altus; three daughters Judy Helmert of Ozark, Janice West and husband Clint of Altus, Roberta Dorrough and husband Sam of Ozark; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews and many family and friends. Rosary service will be Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Brian Lachowsky, Sr. officiating. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 23 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Pius Ajunwa Iwu officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. **Due to Covid-19, the family asks that only family be in the church during rosary and funeral mass. All are welcome to attend the graveside portion of the ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Altus, Arkansas** In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altus, Arkansas.
