Elizabeth “Earlene” Jennings, age 89, of Ozark, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 in Ozark. She was born August 2, 1935 in Denning, Arkansas to Walter Earl Vaught and Ora Ellis Holloway Vaught. Earlene was of the Methodist faith and a member of the Altus Methodist Church in Altus, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Altus-Denning High School and Arkansas Valley Vo Tech. She enjoyed her time as a stay-at-home mother for over 20 years, later worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Ozark Nursing Home and the Johnson County Hospital, and then became a Nursing Instructor at Arkansas Valley Vo Tech. Earlene was a seamstress, loved reading, and taking photos of her family. Earlene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Loyd Harold Jennings; one son, Loyd Harold Jennings Jr; one daughter, Jill Elizabeth Jennings; three brothers, Herbert Burl Vaught, Doyle Vaught, and William Vaught; two sisters-in-love, Pat Vaught and Gerturde Vaught; two sister cousins, Johnny Dunahoo and Sissy Musgrove; one granddaughter, Jady Jennings Abbot; and two nephews and four nieces. Earlene is survived by one son, Randall Jennings of Altus; two daughters, Donna Jennings Woolsey and husband John of Ozark and Shawna Jennings of Ozark; eleven grandchildren, Sophie Jennings, Naomi, Olivia, and Fiona Jennings of Clarksville, Arkansas, Emily Wyles and husband Jacob of Ozark, Todd Brown and wife Trisha of Clarksville, Stefan Lyons and husband Eddie of Ozark, Leah Henry and husband Brandon of Ozark, Shannen Springwater of Altus, Joshua Jennings and wife Amanda of Altus, and Tosh Haynes; twenty four great grandchildren, JT Joyce, Judge and Maddox Jennings, Wyatt and Logan Hall, Caden, Brody and Avery Abbot, Caleb Lyons, Parker, Hudson and Evvy Stane, Landon Henry, Neo, Brooklyn and John Brown, Anna Beth Julius, Briley Tesreau, Emma Roland, Hattie and Cash Martin, Landree Myers, Jake and Blake Wyles; seven great-great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Dale Vaught of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Lamoine Gragg of Altus; and ten nephews and sixteen nieces, whom she dearly loved. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Funeral service will be 9:00 A.M., Monday, June 16, 2025 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark, with Sister Karen Hawkins officiating, with burial at Houston Cemetery in Alix, Arkansas. Following the funeral service, family and friends are welcome to meet at the Greenwood Community Center, 5111 Carbon Plant Road Ozark, Arkansas.
