Butch Cordell

Clarence Benton "Butch" Cordell, 77 of Ozark, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Fort Smith. He was born June 27, 1943 in Richmond, Indiana to Robert and Mae Etheridge Cordell. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ozark and a graduate of the Ozark High School Class of 1962. He was a retired Agent for Farmers Insurance Group in Ozark, a retired Tower Crane Operator with International Union of Operating Engineers of Washington, DC for twenty-five years, Local 819 in Fort Worth, and Local 382 in Little Rock, member of Ozark Lodge No. 79, Scimitar Temple in Little Rock, a 32nd degree member of Fort Smith Consistory, and a charter member of Altus-Ozark Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nan Dangers; five brothers, Robert, Richard and David Cordell, Jim Whittaker and Gary Barham. Butch is survived by his wife, Carol Doss Cordell of Ozark; a daughter, Sheila Graham and companion Joe Culp of Neosho, Missouri; two sons, Brad Cordell and companion, Amber Arts-Adams of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Brent Graham and wife, Debbie of Ozark; grandchildren, Alyssa and Grace Cordell, Kayden and Donnovan Adams of Bella Vista; Alex Richardson of Roland, Oklahoma and Nicholas Richardson of Lowell, Arkansas and Sierra Richardson of Neosho, Missouri; Breanna Graham-Pippin and husband Kyle of Dardanelle, Arkansas, Wade Graham of Russellville, Arkansas and Eddie Graham also of Russellville; several nieces and nephews; and so many wonderful Ozark High School classmates and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Ted Darling officiating and burial at Mt. View Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, May 14th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial Street in Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Wade and Eddie Graham and Alex and Nicholas Richardson, Joey Sturgell, and nephews, Cliff Doss, and Randy and David Ross. Honorary pallbearers are the Shaffer Brothers, Newt, Don, David and Jack, Casey White, Lonnie Turner, Gary Kuykendall ,Rick McClellan, nephews, Danny and Jimmy McClellan, John Milam and Dr. Michael Westbrook.
