Benjamin Dale Rhodes Sr.

Benjamin Dale Rhodes Sr, age 77, of Ozark, Arkansas, earned his heavenly wings, Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born July 28, 1946 in Kenna, West Virginia to William Rufus Rhodes and Dicie Cunningham Rhodes. He served in the United States Army, was a Vietnam Veteran, and was a recipitent of the Purple Heart honors. He had lived most of his life in Eros, Louisiana and later moved to Ozark. Benjamin worked hard to provide for his family and owned the business, Rhodes Steel. He was not just a hard worker, he was a family man, the best husband, father, papaw, friend, son, brother, uncle, and father-in-law. Benjamin enjoyed family gatherings, listening to Bluegrass music, fishing, hunting, taking long peaceful rides and taking in the sites of the countryside. He never met a stranger, was very outgoing and outspoken, a great listener, offered much advice, and was always there at any given time. His family will miss their Papa Bear. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Edward, George, and Ronald Rhodes. Benjamin is survived by one sister, Evelyn Marie Goff of Kenna, West Virginia; three brothers, Carl Rhodes of Irvin, Kentucky, Darryl Rhodes of Ripley, West Virginia, and Curtis Rhodes of Kenna, West Virginia; his children, Delphia Rhodes of St. Albans, West Virginia, Benjamin Dale Rhodes Jr. of West Monroe, Louisiana, Michael Shane Rhodes and wife Pichayapak of North Carolina, Justin Rhodes of West Monroe, Louisiana, and Sandra R. Jones of West Monroe, Louisiana; eighteen nieces and nephews, Sharon, James, Sheila, Dexter, Nathan, Barbara, Donna, Jerry, Carl Wessley, Gary, Rodney, Debbie, Tim, Michelle, Arney, Missy, Curtis Ray, and Alisha; nine grandchildren, James e. Carr, Lanie Williamson, Jesse Rhodes, Kirsten Crawford, Trinity Rhodes, Alysha O’ Cheltree, Logan Rhodes, Angelica Jones, and Brandon Jones; eight great grandchildren, Elaina, Champ, Crash, Penelope, J.J., Alec-Zander, James, and Milo; and his sweet baby girl dog, Pita.
