Farris Edward Howard Jr.

Farris Edward Howard, Jr., age 74, of Ozark, Arkansas died Friday, August 19, 2022 at his home. He was a retired Bus Driver, Study Hall Aide and Sports Videographer for the Ozark Hillbillies. Farris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ozark and Ozark Recreation Club. He was a HUGE WWII Model Aficionado and Sports Collector, which is why he was known as the “Hoarder.” Farris was born July 11, 1948 in Falfurrias, Texas to Farris Sr. and Rita Cantu Howard. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Dennis Howard; two sisters, Jo Ann Howard-Hayes and Barbara Howard-Wilson; and one daughter Kristi Wilcox. Farris is survived by his wife of 27 years, Brenda Burge Howard of Ozark; six children, Tony Howard and wife Michelle of Paris, Arkansas, Michael Howard of Ozark, Travis Howard and Monica Divet Schwert of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Sam Wilcox and wife Lara of Ozark, Kimberly Bowman and husband Alvin of Ozark and Natalie Walker and husband Dustin of Cecil, Arkansas; two sisters, Beverly Howard-Singletary and husband Roy and Ginger Howard; sixteen grandchildren, Whitney Bottoms and Andres Garcia, Kaitlyn Naegle, Kloey Howard, Maddy Fulmer, Tierra Howard, Bryttney Donnerstag, Addison Howard, Jessica Dean, Lindsay Chastain, Peydon Wilcox and Andrew Powers, Lyndee Walker, Jacob Howard and wife Michele, Corey Naegle, Jacob Naegle, Caleb Wilcox and wife Hailey, and Rylan Walker; ten great grandchildren, Addailynn, Lillian, and Raelyn Wilcox, Zaylee and Wynter Howard, Bennett and Jase Bottoms, Phoenix Casner, Nicholi Howard and Braydon Chastain; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Shaffer Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Ozark with Brother Ben Lairamore and Brother Ted Darling officiating under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Ben Lairamore, Sr., Rick Gage, Ed Hula, Ron Rippy, Bret Nagel, John Parrish, Mac Bornmann, Porter (Peck) Hayes, and Jacob Howard. Honorary pallbearers are Merle DelSoto, the First Baptist Church Kitchen Crew and every student and athlete he filmed or transported on a bus.
